Our daughter attended Ante Natal classes in Santa Cruz with Dave Brubeck's daughter in law. We visited the house of Nora and Danny Brubeck in San Francisco. We attended a couple of concerts in the Barbican where Dave and his family played all his old tunes with the London Symphony orchestra, and went back stage to meet all the family. The concerts were Dave's 75Th and 80Th birthday tours of Europe. We also saw the quartet in Symphony hall. They are a lovely friendly family. Our daughter has also spent several days in one of Dave's homes in the US. She still keeps in touch with Danny and Nora. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Belatucadrus Posted March 23, 2013 Report Share Posted March 23, 2013 When Dave Brubeck died it dawned on me that I didn't have a single Brubeck CD so I headed online and bought myself The Real Dave Brubeck a truly excellent way to chill out in the car, definately conducive to driving in a relaxed civilised manner.It wasn't bad value when I got it but a few months ago, it's even better now. AlanHo Posted March 23, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 23, 2013 I have a Brubeck LP record that was given to me by me second cousin's, best man's, uncle's, window cleaner who nicked it from the original Virgin music shop in London and sold it to a porn pawn shop in in 2007 from where my wife's brother-in-law's son bought it and passed it on to our step son's girl friend who didn't like it and gave it to us as a present. Hogansacher, the famous music critic of the Washington Echo and part time Eidel Weiss specialist, Dave used to let his finger nails grow long so that he could scratch himself easily in certain arias.
