LittleMrJ
I need to change system boot order in BIOS.However, my USB keyboard will not work until Windows fully boots & initializes the USB ports. How in Hell can I access BIOS without a keyboard to hit function keys with? How can I make the USB ports initialize before the BIOS prompt? I'm pulling my hair out here. This is BS. I do NOT have a PS2 port.I'm using a USB keyboard on a laptop which has a non-functional laptop keyboard. Is there any hope other than ordering & waiting for a laptop keyboard replacement?
Gandalph
Try a re-boot without the keyboard (unplug it) but keep your finger on the delete key. It should take you into the BIOS.

It would be nice if he was to come back and let us know how he got on.
Alan2273
It will be interesting as he said the laptop keyboard was non-functional.
-pops-
There always comes a time when resurrection/recovery/repair of a piece of electronic equipment is unviable. With this I think the time has come - and perhaps passed.
Gandalph
It will be interesting as he said the laptop keyboard was non-functional. My Apologies I missed that bit. The only other thing I can suggest is a repair of the current laptop or a new machine.
LittleMrJ
I found the cause of why my USB keyboard won't function. I have quick boot enabled, which means the keyboard & mouse won't initialize until after the boot sequence. Again, this is a BIOS function. So I need to change a BIOS function in order to access my BIOS functions.Time to order a new keyboard. bludgard
Somwtimes if the CMOS is shorted the machine will go to BIOS at next boot for correction (or at the least reset to default).Worth a shot....
