johnoo Posted August 23, 2013 Report Share Posted August 23, 2013 I have, I think, a strange log in problem.At night time when I close down my system I always log out of e mail, BT yahoo mail. When I turn on in the mornings my e mail password is rejected the first time, but is then accepted on the second try. Note, I know I am entering the correct password. If I log out of e mail during the day but do not shut down the system I have no problems in logging in again to mail. I have tried using F.Fox & the problem does not occur. Thanks for the input, but currently I am not using CCleaner as it has been deleting items I want maintained ie Post Code on Google maps. So I think we can rule that out. But I'm interested in what you state about "Delete History same for each browser" If I go into IE Tools/Internet Options/General/Browsing History:- This is not checked. Boris, Thank you, I understand what you are saying about "correctness" but I have two problems in my mind:- 1 Why after an initial rejection is the Password accepted at the second entry? 2 I do not know what areas to adjust/tamper with in Tools/Internet Options/Security or Privacy or General. I've recently started using Thunderbird, having moved over from Outlook (with plenty of problems converting Outlook .pst files to something a bit more usable in Thunderbird). I'm with BT but not used their contemptible Yahoo system for many, many years. I think I used it for about a week shortly after its introduction and thought then it was dreadful and nothing has made me change my mind. Thunderbird is easy to set up. Unless you already have the stand alone version or one of the Microsoft Office suites, it it very expensive. johnoo Posted August 25, 2013 Author Report Share Posted August 25, 2013 Have not set up Thunderbird yet, but last time I did so on my old computer I had a problem with E mail contacts.I managed to export my Contacts list from BT yahoo & Imported them to Thunderbird, from memory they came out as a "Yahoo. ab file"But after this I had to manually add Contacts to Thunderbird & they appeared in a different section of the Thunderbird Contacts area. johnoo Posted August 26, 2013 Author Report Share Posted August 26, 2013 Boris, thanks, that's what I used last time, but I find that any new Contacts added go to "Collected Addresses" rather than the Downloaded file.Have now found a way of manually adding them to this file, but is there a way that new Contacts set up in other mail systems, say BTYahoo can be automatically passed over to Thunderbird?
