Belatucadrus Posted September 2, 2015 Report Share Posted September 2, 2015 450 g Romanesque Cauliflower1 Small/Medium potato diced25 g Butter1 Tablespoon cold pressed rapeseed oil1 Red onion finely chopped800 ml Stock ( Chicken or vegetable )150 g Gorgonzola cheese1 teaspn Turmeric.1 Tblspn Balsamic vinegar Melt Butter in pan with Oil add Onion & Potato, cook on gentle heat until onions are soft, stir gently or the potato will stick. Add Turmeric and stir in.Add stock and Romanesque bring to the boil, Cover and cook for at least 10 mins until Romanesque is tender. Crumble the cheese and add to the pan stirring until melted in. Add the vinegar and simmer on low heat for a minute. Blitz it with stick or jug blender, season to taste. If it's not cheesy enough add more, if you find it too piquant add cream. Why Soup ? Belatucadrus Posted September 3, 2015 Author Report Share Posted September 3, 2015 I'll qualify "cheap", our local farm shop is doing their home grown ones at 35p and they're enormous, go to Waitrose and they're selling them as a speciality item loads of dosh for two tiny heads.For those that have never tried them they look like a cross between a Cauli and Broccoli and that's pretty much what they taste like stronger flavour than a standard cauliflower but milder than broccoli.
