johnoo
I have a Asus X102B Laptop & have been advised not to install Windows 10 as it will slow the machine down. But today doing normal updates supplied by Microsoft it tried to install Windows 10.I cancelled the installation & "Hide" the installation line in the Optional installations. But every time I switch on the item has been unhidden.Any advise to keep it hidden? Gandalph
The only advice I can give is to remove it by going back to a previous installation. According to some IT Engineers I know Windows 10 isn't going to be ready for deployment for a few Month's yet. Microsoft have got bugs to remove from it before it will be anywhere near usable. HTH. johnoo
Thanks,The situation is that I stopped the installation of Win. 10 but the Installation file is now just available in the "Optional" Installations section.I can't find any way of getting rid of it.Is there a way of doing this? johnoo
Interesting this I think.Using the link kindly given by Irene, I looked at the 4th idea, this being uninstalling KB3035583 which is I think the Win. 10 enabler.I know that weeks ago I uninstalled this on the Tower & then when it came up again to install I hide it.So I thought I had forgotten to do this on the Laptop. So I uninstalled, then ran "Check for updates" again & then hide KB3035583. Then the interesting point, I then checked the Tower Control Panel & found that KB3035583 was again installed!I don't know how /why but it took place on the 6th October.I have now uninstalled/run Check for updates & hidden again. So let's see what happens.
