AWOL Again - But Not For Pleasure

For the past 10 years I have been a close friend and recently the attorney of a 94 year old blind veteran friend. He moved into a wonderful care home in Brighton 18 months ago because he could no longer manage on his own in his flat.

Albert died last night after a short illness and I am off to Brighton tomorrow for a few days to organise his affairs. I am an executor of his will together with one of his nephews - who left for a 2 week sea cruise yesterday and will not be here to share the load.

Hence I am unlikely to be on the forum much for a few days - you now know why.

Thanks for your warm wishes guys. The fun will come when I execute his Will - he changed it 18 months ago to reflect who has shown real care for him over the past 4 years since he was left alone when his wife died. He has no children - just an ailing brother who he expected to outlive and 6 nieces/nephews of which only one has kept in touch. When he was taken really ill 6 weeks ago some came crawling out of the woodwork in high expectation - but only one nephew is a beneficiary.
