Belatucadrus Posted February 1, 2018 Report Share Posted February 1, 2018 Many years ago as a precursor to all the modern vehicle platform sharing Alfa Romeo and Nissan decided to get together and cooperate in producing a family car. Brilliant said everybody, the style of an Italian car with the reliability of a Japanese one, they're on to a winner what could possibly go wrong ? Unfortunately the two giants of automotive industry did it the other way around and produced the Arna a small and somewhat ugly hatchback with at best characterless Japanese looks but made in Italy at a time when Alfa had a well earned reputation for producing unreliable badly assembled crap. A company that I worked for had to get me a company car in a hurry, and at that time most cars were on extended delivery, and all they could get was a Viva. It was performing so badly that I took it down to the garage. Only three cylinders had anywhere near full compression. The garage said that all I could do was to use copious quantities of Redex. Belatucadrus Posted February 2, 2018 Author Report Share Posted February 2, 2018 Over the years I've driven assorted Vauxhall cars, Cavalier Mk 2, OK. Carlton rather dull. Royale coupe, nice and then the last and by far least the Chevette. Best I can say about it is it was waterproof, the engine was a complete nail, weedy unrewarding and rough as hell at all speeds, the greatest pleasure it gave me was handing the keys back to the poor boob whose company car it was.
