SHORT TALE ABOUT A BMW CAR.

 

About a year before I retired my company car reached it's "retirement".  Company policy was to change them whilst they were still  in very good condition, and would command a good "trade in" price.  We could have what ever we wanted providing it was sensible and within the approved price limit for ones position.

 

BMW had, a few months before, launched a "cheaper" model. It was a  BMW 318i and was an "acceptable" replacement for my Ford  Capri and so I acquired one.

 

It came home as a permanent asset a few months later, when early retirement was the result of blood pressure.

 

One day, about  two years after the above, I had a great shock. I found some water on the car floor directly under the pedals. I opened the bonnet and had a look at the bulkhead. There was a small hole through into the drivers area. On touch it readily turned into a bigger one, as did the bulkhead in the passenger area.

BMW would not sell me a body shell.

It went to the breaker's.

Another BWM tale, not that many years ago BMW clearly had a surplus of Z4 roadsters so they preregistered them and sold them at a massive discount. I bought one it's bloody brilliant.
