Disabling signatures

Some of our members have rather snazzy but LARGE signatures... while that is ok for most, if you are on dial up it can be a big pain because it can take an age for the whole page to download.

However help is at hand, you can disable signatures.

Go to My Controls, then under Options on the left hand side you will see a link for Board Settings, there you can disable signatures, smileys and avatars making the pages a lot quicker to load.

No! no way, it was just out of interest.

Incidentally I also noticed that your avator (also animated) is only 5K and mine is a massive 28K. And it is not.

Must do something about that! I thought that it was automatic.

Cheers

Although mine is moving it's only a gif. very small size. Yours is a photo. [jpg] and uses up a bit more space. No problem with yours though.

Some of the members who are on dial-up may at times find the pages slow to load because of big signatures etc. but they can turn these off from their controls and it will speed up the page loading.

Hi Doug. Yep been here for quite a while. I think my date under the avatar is correct, just that I don't post as often as I should. Always here for a read though and some of the threads have cheered me up many times on a lonely night.

By lonely night I mean through the small hours when I can't sleep. :(

Can't check at the moment Doug [The sites down] but have logged in 4026 times over the past years made something like 12000-15000 post and even though they have reset the board to register posting from 2003 only, I still have over 100 pages of "My postings" They can't shut me up over there.

Lots of waffle though rather than tech. help
