christmascracker, I amy be well off the correct path here, but how do you shut down your computer?

The reason I ask, is that I have found in Win 2K, that whenever I apply certain system changes, if I do not log off and then shut down the computer properly (I usually just hit the power button), then the changes do not actually apply.

Regards. Mr. M.

Doesn't really matter at the moment now as my 'D' drive died last night :(

Went to defrag it last night and it ran but didn't do anything and it started making a grinding, clicking noise.

Ran the Powermax drive utility and it came back with the 'Your drive is about to fail' message.

It's only 3 weeks old so it will be going back very shortly!!

Just makes you think more regarding backups though, thank goodness I backup to CD as well.
