Guest northamuk
Nellie and I were members of another, excellent, forum which fell victim to one or more of these Hacker/stalkers which resulted in it having to be closed. Until you fall foul of these 'Net Wierdos' you have no idea of how vile they can be.

-pops-
I think the forum Northy mentions is one that I was a member of as well - where the other irrelevant information got posted. Welsh Dragon as an avatar, yes? Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone. It was really my birthday yesterday, it wasn't something I put into this post as an aside.Regarding dogs, Christmas 2002 my elder son bought a dog ostensibly as a present for his two daughters. It was, in fact, a "hidden" present for me as one of his colleagues, a cardiologist, is firmly of the opinion that the best treatment for heart disease is a dog - it forces you into activity. So, I have charge of a large old fashioned golden retriever - much like DD's avatar. My grand daughters still think he's theirs and I look after him for them.I trained the dog myself and we are virtually inseparable now. He ensures that I get plenty of exercise - well, as much as I can manage considering the physical state of my body. We're lucky as we live close to some large National Trust forests and just opposite is the village pond and some woods and so on. (Don't get the idea this is idyllic, it ain't when you live here!!)You see, more personal stuff coming out - only because it's now relevant to the thread and it's certainly much more detail than filling in the form on the profile page. Sir Radfordin
Just out of interest given the amount of 'personal data' being held by this site does the "owner" not have a duty to register with the Data Commissioner? The DPA is complicated and I'm not going to claim to know all (or indeed anything!) about it but I feel it may be getting close to WF being a 'processor of information'The internet is about being anonymous and people spend ages trying to remain unknown. I was amazed at the number of people willing to send photos to SpikeyChris (www.ihatemykids.co.uk). Perhaps as time goes by and people do build a senese of comunity within a forum such as this there is a 'want' to be known and personal information is one way that can be done.
