It is a reality of life. The PC vote seeking left bought quite a few more votes by bringing in legislation to try to counteract this and similar "inequalities". ranger Posted July 21, 2004 Report Share Posted July 21, 2004 at the moment our dept have two woman off on maternity leave, and have just employed a sports instructor that one week after starting announced she was pregnant, also in the past 4-5 year we have had different woman on maternity leave on at least 11 occassions and then there is the paternity leave that fathers get now (2 weeks) evne if they are not married or even live together, it certainly adds up to a lot of hassle and cash for a business, people being pregnant Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The problem with pregnancy is that the left can only see the womens side in this argument. They do not take into account just as to how a small business can hope to survive with people on maternity and now paternity leave. The nanny state is going much too far. The references to children are incidental, sidetracking and not relevant to the main premise.My earlier contribution here was a reminder that another of this "wonderful new breed" political party is very far from being as pure as the driven snow.But, what can we expect? If my experience of election day was widespread, we got what we deserved.As reminder of my experience, I went to vote at about 1pm. I was the first one at my polling station to do so. Three out of eleven - that's twenty seven per cent of the UKIP MEP's - Bloom, Mote and Kilroy Slik (that misspelling is deliberate), the last one even before the elections came about. I am glad now that I have seen it, because it seems to suggest that whatever I (or anyone else) do without regard for the consequences, the community will pick up the pieces.
