Allready got it and patched over SP1

I shall instal it straight away - someone has to be a pioneer - and if I get into deep trouble I shall simply post here in the hope that one of you cautious guys can sort me out whilst sucking air through your teeth in time honoured "I could have told you so" fashion.

If you want to learn to swim - jump in the deep end.

As above I installed it as soon as it was available for a download and up till now no problems.

I too received the Microsoft SP2 CD today.

I had already installed SP2 from the download link posted on WF some weeks ago. However, being a glutton for punishment, I decided to :-

- uninstall SP2,

- check the size of XP on my hard disc using Explorer

- reinstall SP2 using the Microsoft CD

- check the new size of Windows

This was to determine how much space SP2 has used. Just curious.

The answer is that SP2 has added 7 folders, 716 files and 128 MB to my Windows folder - excluding the $NTServicepackuninstall folder which contains an additional 2644 files and occupies 262 MB.

Hence my hard disc has grown by 8 folders, 3360 files and 390 MB.

To my relief - it all seems to be working OK. :jump:

Got the disc this morning.

Had a good read through the SP2 forum on PCA.

Only took about half an hour all told! Remains to be seen if all is OK.

I'm using the MS firewall - what were the views on that? Is it better now?

I installed about half way through August, and it's running like a dream. The XP firewall as far as I have been informed is still only ONE way, and will not stop programs from accessing the internet without your approval.
