You seem to have a thriving community here and I pop in now and then to have a look (laugh) ;o). There does however seem to be a lot of PCA bashing.

PCA is run totally different from this site and I believe that you should concentrate on what you are good at, posting what you want, about what you want.

Congratulations on the setup and I wish you future success.

Chris

Well, you cant wonder at it, after the way they closed the gamesroom with out so much as a bye your leave.

Some of us were pretty miffed about that. We put a lot of effort in there.

Hi Chris :) nice to see you :)

I guess everyone have their own views on the pros and cons of PCA, it's such a large site it must be hard work to moderate the forum. It can be a bit "cold" in there sometimes, although it's a great success and the numbers keep growing week after week. As you say, it's run totally different from here, it being mainly a Helproom and little scope for "chat". Here you can get both and feel welcome :)

I guess the majority here still contribute to both forums, as you do yourself, but here you will have a smile on your face all day long :D

Will look forward to seeing more of your posts :)

Best Wishes,

Bryan.

Bit of PCA censorship coming in? You are the weakest link.......good bye. :P

The success of this site is because it IS different from PCA. :D

I have to say that I think that some of the criticism PCA gets is justifiable and sometimes the only way to criticise it is to do it on another forum, as you get slagged off message deleted and topics closed etc. that said it is still the best site around for what it does

Seeing as this site has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with PCA,I guess we are entitled to air our views on it's crediblity.

Any PCA "bashing" is always justified and as Ranger says, this is one of the places where it can be done without extreme reaction.

Any attempts to question PCA's views or standpoints ON the PCA site are always talked down immediately.

I was once asked by a senior figure within PCA forum (via e-mail) why I stirred it up so much...I said I believed that PCA forum, ultimately, was the blind leading the blind.

I also pointed out that if I wanted "proper advice" I'd much prefer to rely on sites such as http://www.experts-exchange.com where the experts really are....experts...to which he replied that the "success" of the PCA forum relied on people from all walks of live helping each other out.

This might have been true a year ago but the site is nothing compared to then.

All I see now is the same old questions time and time again being answered by people of dubious knowledge who I've never heard of.

I guess most new people who ask questions on the PCA forum expect to be given advice from "PC Advisors"...The truth is they are generally advised by self-proclaimed "experts" who know less than the person who posts the question.

This site, however, has no such issues. We like a bit of fun...yes...We can also be serious and help out our friends with problems.

Spikeychris do you see?

This place is a little bit like PCA,but with icing on the top,and sprinkles, and fresh cream.

Cheers.

Shirl.

i must admit u 'newies' amongst us have sum guts.i remember a time not so long ago when china and guy wouldn't allow any postings that weren't in the least bit pc related.that period came after the lounge tho.anybody remember it? don't go in there very much these days but it's funny to see sumbody taking the pi** and getting away with it-or so it seems.the moderating was iffy to say the least.i know of a lady who was barred and she did nowt at all and have not heard of her since.we all had fun and it got to a stage where everybody was wondering who would be next for the chop.

can i be FE please?

Size does seem to matter...

With a population of nearly 90.000 you are bound to get repeat questions and requests. Not here to defend PCA and its good to see so many familiar names but I have to strongly disagree with Shirley Crabtree. The forum is *packed* with knowledge and there are some very computer savy members.

With so much traffic on one site the moderating does have to be severe, imagine if every inane post was allowed to grow, there would be a melt down.

There is the argument that PCA will become a victim of its own success, I hope not.

Once again keep up the good job and top marks to Craig.

the ideas have been forthcoming for god knows how long.they really don't listen to their members.if they had then they wouldn't have got rid of the lounge.was supposed to make the site a better place but instead it brought younger members who wanted to have their say and wouldn't be shut up by their stupid comments.i don't know wot they've been like recently but they'd say one thing and do another.if ur told that all ur postings are safe and that they would be archived would u not believe it? the lounge was very much a chilling out area ( for those of u who don't know) and everybody was told that it would stay.i was told differently AND that everything would be archived.how would u feel if all the postings from here just disappeared?

it is a very good site and i'm almost certain that the member numbers are made up.it will stay but whilst a lot of those members will move on because of their attitude there will always be newbies to take their places.the problems with the slowness of the site has always been there.it went on for months and nobody was listened to.when the revamped site was unveiled last year things did improve greatly but not enough

who is shirley crabtree? don't know the name from over there

Hi Spikeychris, nice to see you again.

Aren't you the one who quit PCA then returned hours later?

People here can say what they like about PCA and don't need you giving them pointers about working "to their strengths".

I wish you well in your job as unofficial PCA Moderator.....
