................Wahoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :clapping: :cheers2: :jump:

George W Bush won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And by a clear mandate.

120 million people voted.....the largest turnout ever in the history of the US.

Bush received more than 3 1/2 million popular votes than Kerry. He received the most number of votes of any President in the history of the elections. He won the popular vote by a margin of 48.4% to 51.6%. He took the electoral college race.

Looks like George Soros is looking for a monastery to move into (he promised that if Bush won).

BTW: There is absolutely no way mathematically that Kerry can take Ohio based on the provisional ballots. Lets see what kind of man he is by conceding the election within the next day or so.

OK.....End of celebration.

Am I correct in assuming that US presidents can only be presedent for a maiximum of 8 years?

...and if correct, why is that?

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (January 30, 1882 - April 12, 1945), often referred to as FDR, was the 32nd (1933-1945) President of the United States.

He was elected to an unprecedented four terms of office - the only U.S. president elected more than twice, and part of the reason the United States Constitution was amended to limit presidents to 2½ terms (10 years)

All I can say is...

Please pray for us

We are going to need it. This country is in for a very rough time for the next four years and probably longer.

I am not at all sure that the U.S will ever recover from this man's insanity and war mongering, not to mention the impossible debt he has put this country in. :sadwalk:

It truly frightens me and I am not one who is easily frightened. :scared:

The Idioc way some people think. Follow the crowd like sheep and believe every word this jackass speaks. Same for bush me thinks.

Look at Hitler he was evil but the crowds loved him and gave him their support and look what happened then

My deepest sympathy's I remember the Thatcher decade over here, Massive unemployment with the Manufacturing infrastructure decimated, the health service starved of funds and brought to it's knees, massive international debt!

But the rich got richer and the poor got poorer.

Hang in there joysness it's only four more years :(

I do take some solace in my belief that God works in Wonderous ways and there is good behind all appearances.

I trust that somehow this will get better.

My experience tells me that sometimes (even many times) we have to hit rock bottom before we can start moving back up.

I just pray that this is the bottom and that the upward momentum starts very very soon

Thanks for all the good thoughts :flowers:

PS. Bush has just announced he's going to overhaul our Social Security system "NOW". I'm in the midst of trying to get Social Security Disability after a work injury. Looks like the fight is going to be longer and tougher than it was going to be and my attorney said it could take up to two years before. Hope I can survive that long

deuces wild,

Thanks for your kind words.

First, let me say, I don't know the "specifics" of his plan because he hasn't given any. At least from the information I have read and heard.

It is my experience over the last four years of watching Mr. Bush not do the things he said he would do and do the things he said he would not do that makes me cautious about believing what he says now.

Please understand, I am not trying to insult you or anything, as it is obvious that you support Mr. Bush and I respect that.

Imo, however, his plan is going to make it even more difficult for anyone to get disability payments because there will not be enought money in the system to pay for it. I have been paying into the system for the past 27 years and I would like to know for sure that I will be able to get my money back now that I need it.

As I said though, I don't know the specifics so this is just my own feeling about this particular issue :)

Then how were you able to make a conclusion that it "Looks like the fight is going to be longer and tougher than it was going to be.." and "Imo, however, his plan is going to make it even more difficult for anyone to get disability payments because there will not be enought money in the system to pay for it"???

And Bush communicated more of his plans to revamp the system (mainly to give the option to invest your money in a private account) than Kerry ever did on any of his plans.

It is my experience over the last four years of watching Mr. Bush not do the things he said he would do and do the things he said he would not do that makes me cautious about believing what he says now.

Examples?

Both sides have to do some reaching out, not just the republicans. Bush did just that yesterday and in his news conference today.

As I said I am sorry to hear about your injury. But with attitudes such as yours it is clear you don't want to give the man and his plans a chance and the divisiveness will remain.
