Internet Shopping

Been doing my Xmas shopping etc this past week or so on the internet, it's hard work you know clicking all those "buy" icons :)

Ordered from various retailers and had some excellent service and delivery.

Play.com (free postage) were superb....goods delivered by return of post, I also ordered items that were out of stock (no rush)...they were also delivered a couple of days later. Our postlady was knocking the door at 7am laden with goods as Play.com sent every item in it's own packaging.....and there were quite a few :D

Ebuyer (postage was only a £1 or so) were excellent, delivered by our postlady again within a couple of days.

Pixmania (postage £9, heavy item as well) delivered by DHL....only ordered on Monday morning and here today at 11am :) Problem after opening the package as the plug was the 2-pin variety, phoned them (answered immediately) and was told they would post me a plug (no charge) or I could buy one myself and they will reimburse me for it (got one in B&Q for £1.34)....excellent service.

Amazon (free delivery option chosen)....ordered on the 20th November, despatched on the 22nd, expected delivery 25th to 27th....still waiting :(

One other that I won't mention in case Ash spots it and realises what his Xmas is :D ...again excellent service and delivery direct from the manufacturer.

With the exception of Amazon, it's been a good week's shopping :)

You still can't beat shopping in a shop.. browsing and picking things up and putting them back down again and then trudging back to the first shop you went in are all part of the fun.

A close approximation to hell in my mind :(

I agree pops :D I gave up "shopping" many years ago...I only spoilt my wife's day out anyway :D

She's been out all day shopping today with her sister, and they went to Belfast the other week shopping for the day, flying from Bristol. They really enjoyed themselves and were shopped-out when they got back :D It's bores me to death and I'm happy for her to really enjoy herself out with the girls :)

Amazon's reply to my email:

Dear Customer

We are sorry that you have not yet received your order.

We can confirm that it was sent from our Fulfilment Centre on

efforts, there can sometimes be unforeseen delays, and in this case

we would ask that you wait a little longer.

Hubby ordered books in plenty time for my birthday in June which didn't come... didn't come ... and didn't come - they finally admitted they were having to wait for them to come from the States or something and it would be late in July when they expected to receive them.

He ordered them from bol.com and they were delivered within a week.

So I was instructed to make sure I didn't use Amazon when doing my internet Xmas shopping - pity really, I love their b ook section.

That elusive mouse has just arrived :)

I have been emailing Amazon over the weekend and they generally kept saying to hang on until 7th December.....perhaps they knew something I didn't :)

At least they respond to emails I guess....even at 9pm on a Sunday :)

By the way.....the Pixmania credit card refund of £3 was credited to my account a few days ago as well.
