andsome
I have always found that the bundled copy that came with the computer does ALL that I require. What would I gain from upgrading??
-pops-
Tried the Tokyo server (after the others failed me) and started off with a download at 122KB/s which within a few seconds was down to 8KB/s.I gave up :(

What would I gain from upgrading??My thought on all upgrades is that if you're happy with the version you already have, stick with it. There's no danger them of cocking things up downloading new programs.I keep up to date with Nero as my son always wants the latest for the video work I do for him.BTW I tried Tokyo again and got them all downloaded at 110KB/s

doug
I've managed to download 5 out of the 6 files - in fits and starts. Cannot download the 6Th one all I get is the message "550CWD failed,"/nerophotoshow/NPSExpress10062_enu.exe" no such file or directory. Is this another way of saying the site is overloaded or something else? -pops-
doug, I don't understand your statement "5 out of 6 files".The Nero I downlaod consists of 4 parts. One of them, InCD, I don't bother with as I think it's more a liability than useful. The ones I load are nero, NVE and NMP.

syntax01010
The new version of Nero does look quite cool. However, as it's been said many times before, if it aint broke, don't fix it. Nero is starting to get some seriously major hardware requirements to function efficiently. My personal experience is that if you don't have at least a somewhat recent computer, your better off sticking with the last release of Nero 5.5However, since they are no longer updating that release, it does leave you in a particular spot that can be quite uncomfortable, especially given the price tags on Nero nowadays. The world of audio-video multimedia is advancing faster than most others anymore, especially in the area of computers. There are a good number of modern media authoring features in this and the previous build of Nero that aren't even possible with the 5.5 version. Yet, the best you can get is an "express" version as an included software with a new burner. So that leaves people stuck with a nice $100.00+ price tag to pay if they are going to modernize to the new stuff.Personaly, I'm leaning more towards the alcohol 120% burning software lately, it is just as modern in capability as the newest Nero, but is more efficient, requires fewer resources, and is much cheaper to afford. Granted, I'd love a full copy of the newest Nero release, its a really cool software package with all the extras, but I don't see a free one offering to mail itself to me, and I don't see myself(being a poor college student) being able to justify spending over $100 to get it either. tony-fr-si
I'm back again!Several weeks ago, I posted (2) problems with Nero.1) abend on closing Nero.2) unable to schedule automatic backup jobs based on frequency, i.e., daily, weekly or one timer. Today, I've updated to package #1 - 6.6.0.6 and package #3 - 4.3.11.1. I'm running version #1.2.0.37.Problem number one was resolved with this fix. Problem number two still exist. I contacted the software vendor to no avail. Still waiting for responses too my e-mails (4) of them..Anyone with the same problem?Tony-fr-si

homecomputeraid
Abend is Abnormal End. It's a Novell term (at least I've heard it mostly in Novell environments).
