More and more folks in the US are eating healthy. Even the fast food places have reacted with more and more of them offering salads and low fat meals on thier menus.

We rarely eat fast food burgers and fries....if we get fast food it will be Chinese, subs or pizza.....and that is only generally once every 2 weeks.

I used to travel the US extensively and always loved my visits to New England (Maine) with double lobsters a normal meal for the evening. Yum.

    Nope - 4 cheese pizza from Somerfield  :D

I love second day foods - soups, stews etc  -  probably a throwback from a childhood when parents were on the very tightest of budgets due to very low income  :)

Soups and stews etc would almost certainly do you more good than any fast food.

Sad thing is I can't tolerate cheese these days - so no pizza for me  :(      Can't chew meat so no stews - will have to stick with the soup  :(

Doesn't stop me looking longingly though

You waiting for false teeth then.

I don't know the exact meaning of the expression either. I assume I am being told I am a scaredy-cat that clings to mummy's bosom, or something.

Yes - I am very scared - unfortunately it is not as simple as it sounds.

I'm surprised you had not heard the expression before. Basically it does mean a baby so young that it is still on mothers milk or bottle formula. It's a very well known expression in the Midlands.
