Belatucadrus
You can just hear the producers meeting.Well dude, he has this brain the size of a planet you know so we've given him this big round head that looks like a planet it's so cool and avant garde at the same time. But we had these study groups and this guy is sooo negative man, the marketing guys say he's too much of a downer and there's no way they can sell Marvin models to the kids. We were going to get the author to make him more up beat, but he's dead which is a bummer so we're like stuck with the script. Then we had this radical idea and made him small and cute looking like Twikki from Buck Rogers only modern, the merchandising is going to be totalllleeeyy awesome.I think I'll stick to the radio scripts. andsome
Glad you warned us about the time factor for the download. If the film is only half as good as the TV series I can hardly wait.
-pops-
Douglas Adams conceived Hitchhiker's Guide in a drunken stupor on some tropical island. To my mind it remains as a novel. OK, the radio adaptaion was sort of alright but anything with visuals in it necessarily makes it lose all of its fascination and interest. The appearance of Marvin, Zaphod Beeblebrox, Ford Prefect et al are best kept within one's own mind and not have to tolerate the interpretation of some "with it", publicity-seeking, no good film maker and the associated marketing hangers on.The appearance of Marvin in the pic above is nothing like the Marvin I have in my mind from years back. I will not be watching the film.
expertec
It was a radio series first, then a book.
