Not quite Belatucadrus. You get the following additions to your basic account. I think it's quite good value for money and taking out the option is one way of supporting the forum, but its not mandatory, any member can stay with the basic functions if they wish. :)

-10MB Storage For Attachments

-Edit Topic Title / Description

-Delete Your Own Posts

-Store Up To 250 Private Messages

-Add Attachments to Private Messages

I think it's an excellent idea, and I have no problem with paying £5 a year to help with the cost of this site.

I also like the idea of being able to delete my own posts as it saves me having to ask a Moderator or Administrator to do it for me (usually Djohn  )

Also I like the idea of being able to alter my Topic headings, as sometimes I post a question and it gets resolved, and so adding the wording "(RESOLVED)" would indicate that the topic has actually been resolved.

Edit:

A further couple of questions:

After contributing, my username colour has turned green, and so is this to let you know that you are a current subscriber?

Secondly, is it our duty to keep our subscriptions up to date or would Neo Planet remind us before it is due to expire? (as I am quite a forgetful person)

Just curious!

Hi CurlyWhirly!

The green is indeed to show you and others that you are a NP subscriber!

Secondly, you can keep track of your subscription status via your control panel. Their isn’t any notification of when you subscription runs out, and like wise I don’t get the notification either. However you are not down graded until I notice that you have "expired" and at which point I will send out a renewal notice. I'll remember to start checking subscriptions in 12 months!

Craig.

Belatucadrus, to answer your original question. The delete button is only available to subscribers. (Gotta give them something to play with! :D ) The edit function is limited to 60 minutes. So if you make a spelling mistake or something like that then you can edit your post as long as you do it within 60 minutes.

If you do post something and then have second thoughts then you can always contact a mod and they will delete it for you. :)

Wouldn't it make more sense to have searching subscription-restricted, and PM's? Searching especially is server-intensive.

I would agree with that option, an edit button is a must for a doddery old f¿rt like me, spelling and senior moments wise.

And living in Spain i cant post subs and i aint using paypal

As I said, the edit button is available for 60 minutes after posting.  You will find that a lot of forums restrict edit times, some forums I work you only have 15 minutes

Sorry :flowers: misunderstood, just another senior moment :D

Edit, just using the edit to query the clock time its two hours different to Spain, it should only be one ?

Have you placed a tick in the British summer time box dadyassa? We have to in the UK but I think anyone outside of the UK should leave it at GMT+ plus their respective time difference.

Whoooops thanks Djohn, it was set to London GMT with no summertime ticked  So set it to Madrid and ok now, feel younger now i`m only an hour in front again.
