Thought I would start a new post and bring you up to date, http://www.windowsforum.org/forum/index.ph...t=ST&f=1&t=1713

Please accept my thanks to all those who have made pledges to sponsor me. To date I have received pledges to a total of £175 from youre good selves and £83 from friends. Must start blagging the locals. I am going to open a dedicated account at the bank to ensure everything is properly accounted for. In the meantime I've made a brief summary from my jogging diary just so you can see that I am trying. Will keep you up to date. Perhaps I'll do something simpler when my BB comes on stream.

Thank you artist. Not making much progress re. the doctor. I keep asking him if he will reduce the medication I'm on. All he will say is that he'll think about it, in the meantime to cut down the frequency of BP checks to every 3 months and the blood test to yearly. :(

I wasn't worried Gandalf, my Doctor was. It was him that kept increasing my medication. Then started me on additional medication. After my stroke the hospital only had me on 75 mg asprin. He's got me on the water tablets (bendrofluazide) and now this Linisopril. Foul tasting rubbish. It's this latter one that he's been progressively increasing the dosage. It was the last increase that prompted all this malarky. As I said earlier during the Dec. telephone cosultation not only did he make positive muttering sounds over the BP but became euphoric when he looked up the latest blood test results. I think it's him thats become the hypocondriac.

Just a quickie, our Nel has been helping me to sort out the table layout on my first item in tis posting. The table looks a bit better now. This is probably my last posting until my BB comes on stream. This may be next week. I will check for any e-mails.

Thought I would share the good news. I'm a lot fitter than I thought. Well what has happened is that my jogging stride has been getting longer. I mentioned in the original thread that when I first started I measured my jogging stride length as 3.35 feet (2.95 feet walking). I also said I had been having some difficulty with the overall distances by my pedometer. Well, this morning I was out for my 6 miler and I was really chuffed to finish in under the 60 mins. However, my Pedometer only reported 5.8 miles, so I the re-measured my jogging stride length. This was 3.75 feet, an increase of 11%. So the 6 miler is 6.4 miles, which is what I measured when I first did it and the pace was 9.15 mins/mile.

So the 10 miler I did on the 7th must have been about 11 miles. Perhaps I aught to go and re-run that stretch again this afternoon for accuracy. Or there again perhaps not just now :D

Thought I'd do an update. Went out this morning for the first time since my last posting. Had a bit of a tragedy I had split my right heel. This was not due to jogging. This split was right under the heel bone and was quite painful to walk on. I listened to my body, as they say, and gave it a rest with plenty of padding. So went out and did 4 miles this am. Boy am I out of condition, still managed a respectful 9.8 mins/mile.

Hi all. Thought I'd do an update. Went for another jog on Sat 28th June. Because of the recent rains, it does up here sometimes, turned right on the C2C track which is all tarmac-ced. Got as far as a car park by the old Viaduct over the Wear and had to stop for a quick P. It's quite a steady descent down this part of the track which I felt on the way back up. Reckoned it was 6.4 miles round trip - 66 Min's 14 secs and felt quite tired. Boy (girl) did I feel out of condition.

Did the same trip on Wed 2nd 64 min 17 sec and felt better. Tried it again Yesterday 3rd but only got as far as the bridge over the Washington Highway, absolutely exhausted. Having a rest day today. Am pruning the hedge round the back, only 250 feet to go having done the front. Three great successes today after taking wife to doc, who has confirmed she needs an X-ray on her knee, looks as though she may have done some damage with the repeated falls she was having. Anyway carried out 2 repairs/tweaks to the Fly-mo vacuum pick-up and gee the leaves and twigs are really well shredded - should make a good vintage compost for next year. £rd success is that the humane mousetraps I'm trying out are working. The Wifes superb Herbaceous border is being devastated. She spotted a small mouse at the bases of the flower stems gradually chomping its way through them. This is since the neighbours last cat died. Anyway one of the traps caught what looked like a field mouse, so off I went round to the local field and released it. Didn't try to examine it as I thought it had already had a bit of trauma. Currants seem to be the bait to use.

Are you sure you aren't confusing what has been left behind by the poor mouse. Glad to hear you are using humane traps ;) Personally I wouldn't get in one unless it was packed with gorgonzola or chocolate. Or maybe some alcohol and a lady mouse :D :P
