catgate
The Terry Wogan/Eurovision post jogged my thinking muscle, and made me wonder about "The National Lottery". When it started it was held punctually on the times originally stated, but as it has lessened slightly in popularity it has now turned into another gap filler, to be slotted in and out of the BBC's schedule just as the BBC pleases. Is there some god given reason why they can tinker about with a National event? Has Tony given his blessing?
nellie2
I would hardly call the National lottery show a national event... but I'm not a lottery fan so perhaps I'm not the best one to give an opinion here
Gandalph
Well lets face it, if they can move Easter around the Calendar they might as well move TV shows and anything else anybody fancies moving around as well.
AlanHo
Easter has always moved about the calendar. It is basically the first Sunday after the first full moon after the 21st of March, which is, of course, the vernal equinox.I would be happy to see the lottery show moved to midnight - it would be an easy time for people to remember and a great time for celebrating if you won. This would free up prime time for something really worthwhile like another soap opera, make-over programme or popular sports like croquet. andsome
I can't understand why can't just get it over and done with in five minutes. I can see no reason for it to be a screaming jamboree with a live? audience. It's dumbing down in a similar fashion to soap opera and reality shows. catgate
This would free up prime time for something really worthwhile ...I like this idea. I can envisage a whole string of progs. like "How to knit a raffia grandad". "How to start your own collection of empty paper bags". "Buttock clenching for beginners". "Twenty ways to a cleaner spleen". "How to give yourself a double hernia". "DIY emergency surgical procedures" etc etc. There are certainly enough D and E list, sexually confused, failed "celebrities" to keep up the flow for many many years to come.I must confess a passing interest in the lottery. I buy a ticket each week. It worries me, however, what I would do about the begging letters, if I should win a jackpot. I suppose I would just continue sending them out. andsome
I usually put £1 a week on for each Saturday in the month, at the beginning of the month. Saves queueing every Saturday.

It's no wonder the tele sacked him.For more amazing reading on this fascinating idiot Click Here
