catgate
As I mentioned in an earlier post on this forum I am struggling with the forces of darkness and inertia. Dealing with my current ISP (Onetel ) is like trying to juggle with a ton of loose soot, or poke smoke up a cats a*se with a pin. Trying to get any information out of them is like trying to find integrity in Toady B liar.Despite the fact that I am signed up to them for 12 months I am contemplating giving them the 'heave ho' and finding another one. But.....will I find a frying pan and fire situation. Where can I find a genuine assessment of quality and reliability (and cost) of ISPs? -pops-
I've been with BT since the days when a 14K dialup was like racing your Ferrari at Brand's Hatch.I have no complaint about them but then, I don't have anything to do with them. They provide me with a service which only rarely goes wrong. They contact me periodically to tell me of some new innovation that I might like (such as a 2Mb upgrade) but other than that, the only contact is when they take money from my account for the service they provide. expertec
I would say the same as pops about my ISP (Telewest Blueyonder), but I don't think that's any good to you as you are not in a cable area? :huh:Check out http://www.adslguide.org/, for ratings and comparisons of ISPs. catgate
Check out http://www.adslguide.org/ , for ratings and comparisons of ISPs.Well I had a quick look. I looked at four or five at random and the date of the "latest" information was mid 2004 (one was 2003). Still what can one expect, after all they are the "communications industry". Communicate? What a pathetic lot.

popeye
I'm of the same opinion as pops.Been with BT since I started computing, no complaints so far except that I'm waiting for a speed upgrade. My son tried to persuade me to go to Plus Net as he has just signed up.It looks good but I'll still stay with BT. AlanHo
Dealing with my current ISP (Onetel ) is like trying to juggle with a ton of loose soot, or poke smoke up a cats a*se with a pin......I have a bucket of soot, a fire can that smokes and a packet of pins. We also have a selection of cats round here - the most formidable being a ginger tom with only one ear, one eye, a severe limp and a badly torn torso which answers to the name of "Lucky".To where do you want them delivered?I use Telewest very happily but two friends are very satisfied with their BT Broadband connections - one of whom recently escaped from Tiscali with a nervous tic and depleted wallet after a long telephone complaints saga. The transfer was simple & straightforward and, as I have had no problems (yet), I have no complaints about their service.Thos.
