Thos Posted August 19, 2005 Report Share Posted August 19, 2005 Following on from the thread in Security matters, some years ago I was due to stay on a farm in Denmark. Due to problems on the inter-island ferries my family and I arrived in the middle of a pitch black night. We got hopelessly lost; the road signs were either non-existent or made no sense, when I saw a light in a farmhouse. With some trepidation, I called and a gent who had been sitting up reading came out. He spoke little English but tried to identify the family we were due to stay with. He didn't know them so he rang friends who rang other friends until someone was found who knew where we were going. All of them drove around and escorted us to our farmhouse with car lights flashing, horns tooting and general mayhem. My wife and I were there about six years ago and the Hotel we stayed in the Hotel Trekronar, charged us £6.50 for a pot of tea for two.
