Windows Media Player 10

Recommended Posts

I'm compiling assorted music to burn to CD. I've managed to burn some ok - then MP tells me there's no disc in the drive! Why isn't it recognizing it. It is MP or my writer?

I thought it was just music files but it's data as well - though not all the time. It does sometimes burn some tracks to the the disc then stops........

I have made MP the default player. Have also got Nero Xpress installed. That doesn't work either. Same kinds of problems.

Can't find anything relevant on M/S.

XP home by the way.

I've never had a problem with WMP 10 burning tracks artist. Perhaps it's the disks you are using ?

Have always used the same ones without a problem......

No other ideas?

I read somewhere about uninstalling MP and reinstalling - can't see where I would do that? Is the uninstall somewhere else?

Artist try going into device manager and uninstall your drive, then reboot your computer and let windows reload the drivers.

[/quoteI did that. Tried to copy some pic files. Got another 'error - cannot burn etc' Tried again - comp can't see the disc???

New writer??? :(

I would recommend the LG Burner. It handles all formats (including DVD-RAM for those who use a Panasonic Hard drive DVD recorder with their telly) and is one of the less expensive drives.

It comes top of the pops with some of the computer magazines.

I have used mine for more than 12 months and am very happy with it.
