I am currently testing the 30 day (Pro) trial version, but so far the biggest change I've noticed is the new and confusing user interface.

I am still using Diskeeper 7, and think it's the best thing since sliced bread. I have it set to set it and forget it, and it automatically keeps the fragmentation to no more than 1% at any time. About once per month I do boot time defrag with it, which only takes a few minutes. I was invited by the makers to try Diskeeper 9 free of charge, but after a few days I was happier with the version that I had got used to. I really don't see how it could be improved.

I am currently using DiskKeeper 9 and it is excellent but I don't feel the need to upgrade to DiskKeeper 10 yet.

When I upgrade to a 64 bit PC next year then I may upgrade as according to the link it offers:

I was always under the impression that Diskeeper was more suited to Win98 and 2K, whereas PerfectDisk is the preferred program designed for XP. I believe the two programs behave in different ways - I don't know how - but is it to do with the way/order in which they sort and place the files and folders on the hard disk... :)

Diskeeper 7 suits me fine as I said. I have not heard of Perfect Disk. Does it have a set it and forget it mode?

Never heard of PerfectDisk, but I have used Diskeeper 6, and it was quite excellent. I can only imagine 7, 8, 9 and 10 are far improved.

On the home page, both XP Home and the Professional version is listed as being supported in DiskKeeper 10 :huh:

I also found that some of the "Set It and Forget It" scheduled jobs were not run since installation of DK 10.

Perfect Disk is quite able to defragment the Master File Table, Metadata. Hibernate File and Paging File :D

I did a practical personal (not magazine review) back to back comparison of Perfect Disk, Diskeeper and O&O Defrag about 12 months ago if you care to have a search through my old posts ?
