I like the good old Tory website your link is from.

LALKAR online

LALKAR is a bi-monthly anti-imperialist newspaper written in Britain.

Are you saying that the accusations are lies? Tory website or whatever is irrelevent. The evidence of labour sleeze is there for all to see. After all the accusations that they made about Tory sleaze,( which I agree were true), now we also know the truth about this lot. It all goes to prove that politicians ALMOST without exception are shysters.

I agree that the Labour party is as corrupt as the Tories were.

Perhaps it is a trait that all politicians are the same irrespective of what political party we are talking about?

Perhaps....there is no perhaps about it. In order to put themselves forward for election they are illustrating that they see themselves as superior to their fellow human beings*, and from there on in it can only get worse. Their election confirms their beliefs and suddenly they are "untouchable". Suddenly "Droit de Seignior" is alive and kicking again.

*This speaks volumes about the mental health of these people, who should really be put into safe keeping for their own well being, and that of the populace.

I have an appointment this Saturday with our local MP and assistant to discuss a matter.

What is the going rate to ensure I get their full attention ?

You couldn't possibly afford it.

I thought that would get catgate going----and it has.

You believe this is true of all; I do not.

From my observations, during well over 70 years in this world (granted I spent the first few oblivious to politics), I can say that I have not seen, met, or read of a politician who was not first and formost interested in "self". Those who claim that they are in it solely for the welfare/benefit of others are deluding themselves (and others).

There may be some who do not enter totally for self elevation and pecuniary gain, but these people too are entering because they personally benefit in some way, even if it is just from the feeling of "doing good".

I, too have been "observing" for a fair few years and, I too, have seen plenty of politicians. As I have said many times, I see no wrong in people entering politics or any public service with the aim of advancement. Indeed it would be a poor soul who did not believe that he or she could do some good. Some fall by the wayside, but I do not think that is a reason for your denigration of the whole lot and your comments earlier about their "mental health"

I thought that would get catgate going----and it has.

Thos, I wasn't trying to get anyone going as I was only expressing my opinion ;)

Yes, I understand.

Why can't the political parties (of whatever shade) obtain their loans in the same way the rest of us have to do - including businesses - by going and grovelling at the bank and if the bank doesn't oblige, go without.

Are the parties paying interest on this money that is loaned?

Is the capital (even without interest) ever going to be paid back? If so, when? If not, the money is no longer a loan and then comes under different parliamentary rulings, doesn't it?

The whole point about this lot is that we already knew that the Tories were not exactly whiter than white, and neither were the Lib Dems. B'liar however claimed that his bunch were going to be different, and would be as pure as pure could be. We now know that this was a flagrant lie. I have also asked the same question pops. Was there ever any intention of paying back these so called loans? In which case they would not have to be declared, or was the intention to make these VERY long term loans, in other words never to be paid back. Gifts have to be declared. Just before typing this I saw the start of a TV interview, when the Labour treasurer was asked point blank, if he could categorically confirm that NO peerages had been given or offered in exchange for loans. He replied that he COULD give that assurance. Believe that if you want to, I know what I think.

One of the things I would like to see is an investigation into the correlation of recent legislation with the businesses of the loaners (and of course the effect).

A can of worms.

" tough on crime .... tough on the causes of crime ........." ...hope that includes corruption

I was just wondering if the reason why that man spends so much time out of the country is so that he has a good chance of not being here when the smelly stuff hits the fan??
