Boris
My nephew is trying to set up BlueYonder cable access on his new XP PC - but he has no installation CD as the original instal on the previous Win 98 PC (which has recently died) was done by one of their engineers. Where can he get a CD from ? - if he actually needs one ? .... or is it just the XP drivers for the Motorola 4100 cable modem that he needs ?Thanks
AlanHo
I recently did a reformat and reinstall of everything. I don't have a Telewest Blueyonder CD - but do have a CD for the Webstar Modem driver. I was up and running again after re-entering my blueyonder account info.I suspect that all he needs is the modem driver. My experience is that Blueyonder support is very good and will hold your hand if needed. andsome
If this info is of any assistance, NTL cable modems do not need software. When I took delivery of this computer I re-opened my account by hand configuration. I have reinstalled Windows several times since then, and have NEVER installed software. All that I need is my e-mail address, password etc and that is it. Does he have an existing BB account? Is it possible that he also will NOT need software? It's worth a try. mark2
as andsome says does he require the s/ware installed ?If connecting to the CM by lan/network cable, connect cable, power down pc and modem, reboot modem then pc and all should be up and running. Alan2273
I am with blueyonder BB and have a Surfboard SB2400 modem. This has been on 4 different computers, including my brothers which runs XP, and it is detected automatically. The only time I have been asked for my password and account user name is for setting up the e-mail. Boris
Thanks all,Apparently he's tried it several times and nothing seems to work ??, so I'm now getting the latest drivers sent around to him via my brother-in-law so he can try them.I'm away from home at the moment so its a bit hard communicating with him or referring to all the stuff I've got available there for reference. Yeah Ano
im on blueyonder bb with a webstar modem. It can be connected either by network cables (preferred) or usb. With the ethernet all i had to do wa enter my blueyonder details to gain access again. With the USB connection i had to load drivers. D4\/!d
My experience is that Blueyonder support is very good and will hold your hand if needed.I am on Blueyonder BB, and I agree with Alan. The support is very good. Dial Telewest freephone 150. They've helped me out a number of times without any fuss :)
