andsome
I am no longer receiving e mail notifications of new topics or postings to existing topics. This is since the forum was off line for a while yesterday. Is anyone else getting this problem. If not, can some kind member of staff please check my account, as none of my settings appear to have changed.
-pops-
That's interesting, andsome. I had a problem with the WF email yesterday/day before and found that it had reverted my address to the old neoplant one.Craig said there was something wrong with the database and your post seems to verify that. andsome
I have just re-checked my settings, and the setting to send e mails HAD been changed. I did not do this myself, and it will be interesting to see if notifications come through now. Has anyone else had any problems since yesterday down time? Thos
Like andsome my e-mail notifications have ceased. My settings haven't altered and, also like andsome, I check my e-mails before I do anything else and when I am short of time look at those rather than "new posts"Often, when I am working through new posts, I have to leave the computer for a while and when I log on again those new posts do not appear as new. The e-mails serve as a reminder.Thos.

Craig
When was the forum offline yesterday, and how long for?I've got the server showing as 100% uptime, and online without a reboot / power down for 51 days.

If not, can some kind member of staff please check my account, as none of my settings appear to have changed.Well, well, well. All this is new to me. Mind you, we backwoodsmen, out in the sticks, have a long way to go to catch up with modern lifestyles.
catgate
This topic has helped me understand something which has puzzled me for some time (stand up the boy who said "That's no suprise").I thought that with emails whizzing around the wires, communication with business and commerce etc., would be quicker...but generally it is not. I now see that with an email alert system the recipient knows instantly that he has got a message but it gives him (or her) more procrastination time in which to luxuriate, and can respond suitably by starting the ingoring immediately. andsome
Just out of curiousity, what is ingoring?
catgate
Just out of curiousity, what is ingoring?Just a guess. Could it be something to do with "bull"?or maybe careless hands....there's a catchy title for a song.
andsome
It was off at about 11-20 am, but I did not check in again until later. My settings had after all been changed to no e mail notification. All is well now.At 11-20 ALL other sites that I tried opened up OK, only this one played up. Chris
The problem we think is down to an email setting that was recently changed to send the bulk email out. A bug? Maybe; who knows, hang on in there folks...
Thos
After a satisfactory spell, the e-mail notification of replies has ceased once more, to me at any rate.I shall hang on in there as Chris has suggested!.Thos.
