doug
Be advised, I have submitted my request for leave of absence from Wed 19th through to Sun 6th. We set off for Newcastle Airport with the first cough of The Dawn Chorus. Should arrive in Nice Apt by about 11 am, collect the hire car then down to Friend's caravan. I suspect that the first job will be to throw open the doors and windows. Then back outside to shovel a path through all the pine needles - not been occupied for several months and being located in the pine forest above the coast at La Ciotat it's prone to this. Grab a bite to eat, then off down to Le Beauset for a gallon or so of plonk - they serve it from something like a petrol pump. Then round to the supermarket for the less critical food and stuff. The comes all the hard work of enjoying ourselves. Not sure if I'll be able to look in at all, will try though.Don't forget folks ARTIST is back! Gandalph
Have a nice time Doug, and don't forget the piccy's when you get back. Watch out for the Foreign Legion, they might just get you signed up for fifteen years if your not careful.
catgate
Just had an email, since teatime, from my daughter who lives in that neck of the woods. "I was on the Cote D'Azur today and it was 37 degrees... yikes! I have to go up into Provence tomorrow and Wednesday ...."Looks like you may need your Airtex knickers. I was speaking to a friend in Grasse (just inland from Nice and Cannes) recently who told me there is a police crackdown on traffic offences in the whole of the Alpes Maritimes area at present - the very area doug has gone.
