Thos
After only 12 weeks on the list, my wife has just gone into day surgery for the removal of a cataract from her left eye. All being well the right eye will be done a couple of months later. I took her in a short while ago and, as it is a relatively routine procedure done under local anaesthetic, the nurse will 'phone me when she is ready to be picked up to come home.Hence my moments of aberration in another post.I have to have the same procedures but it is not quite at the operative stage yet.Thos. -pops-
I wish your wife well, Thos. I'm sure everything will be OK. I've known loads of people who have had the same procedure - all with complete success.

andsome
Best of luck to her. I honestly don't know of anyone who has not had a big improvement after this procedure.Be careful though, she will be able to better see what you are up to. Thos
Thank you for your good wishes. As predicted all went well. I was called to pick her up only 2 hours after I dropped her off. We shared a bottle of wine last evening and the great unveiling took place this morning. In spite of it being the dullest weather we have had for weeks, she immediately started to complain about the bright sky.I am having to forgo my traditional first go at the Telegraph when I normally do the crossword so she can do a few "oohs & aahs" about how well she can see the print. We await the second eye operation and then the bigger one, to unblock the tear ducts which have become blocked up and may need bypassing.Thos.
