-pops-
The skies were very empty above me today. I live under one of the main flight paths of Heathrow and Gatwick.

Tankus
arf I can do better than that , and Im in a flight path .!One of my neighbours got pulled ,god knows what time this morning , theres currently a film crew and 6 reporters parked outside my street ('bout 10 doors down ) , and a pile of coppers , my street was on channel 4 news tonight , four other places in Walthamstow have been raided too ....I thought that the house had been burgled last night ,on my way to work this morning , and there me thinking blimey ..police seem keen for once ...! forensics as well before 7.30 am .....dont know the lads , that house has changed hands several times in the last few years Funnily enough the water board have been in my manor for the last 3 months , and I couldn't understand what was taking them so long , considering they started so early and worked so late , even on Sundays , with nice clean uniforms .....! Always say ' ello ' ello to me on my way to work ...! arf ...should have sussed ...!chatting to one of them about my lead pipes last month ,he did seem a bit vague , he was from Swansea , I overheard the accent , which is why I went over for a chat ..... seems funny now ..!bet they are all gone tomorrow ........Did a good job on my water pressure though , my power shower now hurts on full whack ......... Watchful
I was pleased to note on the news that the people at Manchester airport were mostly patient and kept their senses of humour ;)

Thos
You can get info of flights etc on internet, save going too early ;)Thanks. Yes, I do this regularly. I am also looking at the BAA site to see if the outgoing flight to Malta tomorrow gets away on time.TANKUS.Gee, that's a story. Pity you were not up and about with your camera at the time of the raid. A piccie of that would have earned you a bob or two. Was the house a possible bomb making factory? If so maybe I would have seen you hurtling over Orpington if it had all gone wrong. :D Thos.

deuces wild
Tankus, maybe you should have become suspicious when those neighbors of yours asked if you had any electronic detonation devices laying around. :D  In all seriousness though, my thanks to Scotland Yard for their terrific work on this case. djohn
This is a good site to keep an eye on things. Funny thing is I checked it late at night [Wednesday] at about 10 pm and the warning was at 'Severe' been this way for a week or so. Don't know why but I checked again for some info that I have now forgot about and noticed it had upgraded to 'Critical'. This was about 1:30 to 1:45 am Thursday morning but there was nothing on Sky news, stayed up until just before 3 am reading and still nothing on the news, forgot all about it and went to bed to find the news had broken this morning when I turned the TV on. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Is there really anybody (except TV personnel and politicians) who believe any of this stuff???I laughed when I saw it on CNN last night. This is just a political ploy to make the world look away from Lebanon and the bickering at the U.N.Travel agent asked me to go to the airport 4 hours early. Certainly not! I will be there exactly 5 minutes before check-in closes.

Even flights from Japan to the USA are not immune. That is not to say you should check in 4 hours early, that is up to you of course but the level of security here is such that it would be foolish not to believe that there has been a major amount of intelligence about an attack.Thos. andsome
The main problem now is that all those arrested will probably be out on bail soon. If found guilty eventually, they will probably get ten years and be released after five. They won't be deported then because it will infringe their civil rights. I have very little faith in the system. The police and security people having done a great job will be let down by the system.
