Alan2273 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Share Posted August 30, 2006 It seems a strange request, that you want to damage you operating system, to try out a repair program.But if you really want to go ahead and do this then just edit the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and delete some files from there.But if your repair program does not work then you will have to do a complete reinstall. Do a full back-up of your registry first though so that you can replace the original if required. You may end up having to reinstall from the disk if it goes completely wrong. I suppose its OK to do this if you intend to format your drive and start fresh, but I can't see any other benefit from attempting this exercise. This is the first person that I have come across with such a wish. How many working computers would there be if everyone wrecked the system as soon as they acquired it?
