WINDOWS XP DEMAGE

It seems a strange request, that you want to damage you operating system, to try out a repair program.

But if you really want to go ahead and do this then just edit the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and delete some files from there.

But if your repair program does not work then you will have to do a complete reinstall.

As Alan says, very strange request, but yes, alter your reg and it will go pear shape. Do a full back-up of your registry first though so that you can replace the original if required. You may end up having to reinstall from the disk if it goes completely wrong. I suppose its OK to do this if you intend to format your drive and start fresh, but I can't see any other benefit from attempting this exercise.

We usually get asked how to fix Windows, I think this is the first time we have been asked how to break it.

just delete / move some files in your system folder (C:\Windows\System or C:\Windows\System32)

I thanks for replay. Ive deleted the win.exe, regedit.exe, winnt.ini and any files else, but after restart may be you cant belive, its work like normal OS without error.

I saw this earlier and couldn't believe anyone would want to do this so I didn't reply as I thought I'd misunderstood the request.

Hi, to understand the problems and errors, I think that first we have to demage it and try to repair for understand why, where, and how can come any problem. So in my OS I dont have any important information, Ive installed it just for that.

Thanks

Andsome this is a person who wants to learn how to repair various faults in the XP OS.

Not everyone is wise enough to have a back up, or has the knowledge to repair a broken operating system.

So I can see, but what I can't see is any sense in wrecking a set up just to see if you can repair it, unless you have a back up ready first. This is the first person that I have come across with such a wish. How many working computers would there be if everyone wrecked the system as soon as they acquired it? If he doesn't yet have the knowledge to repair it, what is the point in wrecking it first?
