Thos
Occasionally, I get a message saying that Internet Explorer (or Outlook Express or whatever) has encountered an error and needs to be shut down. It then goes through the reporting procedure etc. I am sure you have all experienced this.Occasionally I get a link to Windows Live Safety Scanner. I think this is a good tool but I don't recall it being mentioned on this forum. Does anyone use it and what are the general opinions on it. The tool can be found HERE if you haven't tried it already, and I would value any opinions.Thos.

Have you ever used it Thos and if so were there any results of interest?p.s. Needless to say, I have historically used the various Symantec (Norton) Tools .. .. :D

Scarecrow Man
I've been upgrading computers from 98 to XP recently, and see this error quite often. This may not be your solution, but it has worked every time for me.1. Download the uninstall_flash_player.exe from here - http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase...cfm?id=tn_141572. Run the uninstaller3. Visit a website that uses flash or http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/tr...mcom/flash.html
andsome
Be aware that this is $50 a year. This is definitely news to me. I use it every couple of weeks or so, FREE OF CHARGE. I have also placed the link into my daughters and a friends favourites and they use it regularly. I think it is a useful addition.I get the message mentioned very very occasionally. Most of us already run an AV program. The one that I use is a one off scanner and tune up.
Thos
Shome mishunderstanding, shurely. The link in my opening post takes me to the same site as andsomes and is the home page, I think of pops link. I believe, according to the site, that the paid for version is only available in the US.Anyway, my intention was to draw attention to a comprehensive free scan available on a one-off basis.Scarecrow Man. I am not too bothered about the error notice, it doesn't seem to have any effect afterwards.Irene. Yes, I did scan with it and after it installed a system restore point it scanned for malware etc. (none found) Then scanned for registry issues (31 found) and so on. It advised on defragmentation and other things also. All in all, it looked useful and I have bookmarked the site for future occasional use. Thos.
