Windows Error Reporting...

I have had the following error message twice recently. My computer just closed without any warning and rebooted itself. It then said that my computer had recovered from a serious "something" (can't recall the exact word). The Windows dialogue box appeared asking if I wanted to send a report back to Micorsoft, which I did. I was then directed to the following page...

Anyone any idea how I could identify which driver is causing the problem?

:(

Little or no point in sending these reports to MS - I've never known anything positive to come from doing so.

If you look in the report, though your can sometimes find the error code - something like 0x00000008. If it happens again, make a note of the code and post it here. We may be able to interpret what it is (with the help of Goooooooogle).

These reports are supposed to help MS fix problems and prevent them in future releases, the least you can do is send them; no harm will come of it and it only takes a few seconds!

If you follow these instructions the BSOD will stay on so you can see the error.

control panel/performance & maintainence/system/advanced/startup and recovery settings

Uncheck automatically restart.

You can note the error down then have a look here.

Thanks very much eveyone for responding.

Trackrat, I've unchecked the 'automatically restart', and will follow your instructions should the failure happen again. I presume that once the necessary information has been gathered from the error screen, there will be instructions on how to resume/reboot? :flowers:
