For example, a fishing rod in three parts would be sixpence each part plus sixpence fopr a reel, sixpence the line and so on.I loved Woolies then but now, I cannot bear the lack of staff, no help, long waits for the till and I am not surprised at it's downfall. Unless something is done about staffing, even the profits from the wholesale distribution of newspapers will not stop it going under eventually.Thos. Gandalph Posted May 15, 2007 Report Share Posted May 15, 2007 I remember my Nana had a wind-up Gramophone and a few records, old 33 rpm type that I think were made from Quarry Slate or something, as they were really heavy. The thing which stands out in my memory, is that they used to put all of the wet towels into a dryer and re-use them!!!!! :0 I hope that is not a practice today.
