. I am happy that Acronis can rescue me if there is any bother.

you do know that windows came with this nifty function to "Uninstall" software , correct...?

i would think that a system restore is hardly needed just because you no-longer want a web browser...

I have just downloaded and installed it, but when I imported my Opera bookmarks, a lot of them would not work (404's).

Most sites were certainly faster loading, but some were slower loading than in Opera or IE7.

As it is still Beta, I will have another look at it when it is finished.

I didn't need Acronis in this instance, but it is always there as a safeguard. In the event after I had uninstalled the browser, a search revealed several entries still on the computer. Uninstalls are frequently not absolutely complete.
