I've found it is prone to disappearing from time to time though but is re-downloaded in a trice if you keeep a short cut to it. Dobtless there are other similar downloads available. (LOL) I know every shortcut on keyboard you can imagine, for all softwares I have installed, so I use my mouse only when I really have to. (LOL) Anyway, thank you very much for your attention. :)colrich, I've already seen Tray Date, but it really doesn't do what I want. I'd like my tray to show something like this: 18:45 - 05/07 THU. I've tried a few third party softwares, but some of them uses 14 MB of RAM. That's an absurd! (LOL) I have only 512 MB of RAM and I really don't wanna spend 14 MB just to customize tray clock to show a simple date. LClock uses 700 KB of RAM. It's very nice, but it doesn't do what I want. That's why I thought maybe there could be a way to show that without using third party softwares. Maybe you could test it by yourself, then if it works, tell me what you did, please. :)andsome, I agree with your words, but I don't agree with your thoughts (although I respect them)... "I have better things to worry about" than moving my mouse towards the tray just to see a simple date. Using mouse is a waste of time (when you are able to do the same thing with your keyboard, of course). It's been already proved. You spend much more time taking your hand off the keyboard, placing it over the mouse and moving it through the screen until you reach your target to click than just pressing a combination of keys on your keyboard, where your hands already are. I'm not telling I don't use my mouse. What I'm saying is I don't use it when I can do the same thing with my keyboard. That's it! In this case, if the date is displayed in the tray, I don't even have to use my keyboard. :P Anyway, as I said above, I respect who uses mouse. There's nothing wrong in using it. It's just a matter of taste. (LOL) It also takes almost 5 MB of RAM and I think it's too much just to show a simple date. SkinClock doesn't fit me either. I've already tried it. About the keyboard shortcuts, I basically learn them from the HELP contents of each software I use. Windows' shortcuts I learnt from Microsoft's website. That's it! :)Coreper, I've already tried TrayCalendar, but it takes a little RAM too. LClock is the best. It takes only 700 KB of RAM. Perfect! But, unfortunately, it doesn't allow me to customize the way I want clock and date to be shown. That's the only problem.I don't mind if there's not a software which fits me, and if I can't find one, there's no problem. LClock would fit, if I could customize it. Some models are very compact and neat.Then stick it with bluetack to the top, bottom or side of your monitor and be independent of Windows.Alternatively - get a day date watch and glance at your wrist whilst typing.Another suggestion is to buy a new computer with Vista Ultimate and a 24" widescreen monitor. You can set the sidebar gadgets screen to show the time and date permanently and be left with plenty of screen space to do your computing.A cheap solution would be to buy a daily newspaper, cut the date off the front page and fasten it with blue tack to the corner of your monitor.My solution is to have a new Siemens DECT phone on its stand alongside the monitor - this shows the time and date on its colour screen - unless I am talking on the phone of course - in which case I can always ask the person I am speaking to what time and date it is. Sure, it is totally customizable, but there's one thing in it which I deslike: we can't turn background color off. It would be great if we could use it without a background color, so that the taskbar itself would be the background for it. I use a Visual Style here, then my taskbar is a mixture of black and grey, therefore I prefer to use a skin with texts in white. It's better. But there's a lot of different colors and, if you're patient, you can create your own skin. It's not that difficult. :)You can choose to use transparent background or not, and that's very good. You can also define what to be shown: seconds, day of the week, date, 12/24 hours. Take a look at my tray (file attached). Maybe you can give it a try, Coreper. I don't remember now, but I think TClockEx takes more than 2MB of RAM. Check it there. :)While looking for this kind of software, I found a little program which puts date and clock (or whatever you choose) on "title bar", next to the "minimize button" of each program or window which gets focus. I found it very interesting. It does make sense, because we always have a program or window opened while we're at the computer, unless there's something being shown in fullscreen, such as PowerPoint presentations, slide shows or a movie, whatever... (lol) This is something I think about every time I look at the tray and see that date and time. (lol)Sometimes I think it's useful because of what it shows, but sometimes I think it's superfluous because of the amount of RAM it uses just to show a simple date.
