It's fully functional and free for a time - enough to sort you out if it can.I find it an excellent program for removing nasties that AVG cannot or doesn't see.I have the paid-for version which I downloaded from GiveAway of the Day a few weeks ago. -pops- Posted August 11, 2007 Report Share Posted August 11, 2007 I just noticed that, Boris.If PrevX didn't manage to clean it up for you, my suggestion would be to delete your restore points, Irene.Make sure you have an independent backup first then delete all restore points by turning System Restore OFF, reboot and reset System Restore. If everything is OK (use for a couple of days) delete your backup OR, if you don't want to take that risk, make a new full backup and carefully note the date and the reason for it. Whist it was verifying the result, it stopped at 54% complete, at which point it said it had found 1 malicious 'thingy'.The program and scan became non-responsive, so I closed it through Task Manager. See hereThanks nellie2.However, since doing the processes mentioned ealier, my boot-up is incredibly slow. It just held for ages on the 'Welcome' screen. It did the same thing yesterday, and I finally powered down by holding in the power button. I have 1.5GB of RAM.I use Startup Inspector to control programs on startup. It was fine until yesterday.Hopefully all will be ok from now, but I'll post again if it continues.Thanks anyway..
