There was a recent poll on here, and despite all the advertising given out by the FF users, the majority who responded to the poll did not use FF.Here it is, and only a small number bothered to reply.Here is a guide to browser popularity for you. It is really a great feat for a new browser (FF) to come within 3 years from practically zero to 34.5%! In the same period IE came down from 75% to 56%. It seems almost sure that it is just a matter of time until FF overtakes IE.It is a pity that - just because you had a problem with a 3rd party add-on - you permanently uninstalled Firefox. But I'm sure that once IE usage drops below 30% or so, Microsoft will just abandon IE, as they have done with other products in the past. So it does have relevance to the topic. Winning a pole on a small forum is meaningless. You might just as well ask who is over 40 years old. One of the main irritants for me when I installed it was as you said, add ons. I wanted a spell checker and there were so many choices, none of which would work, that I gave up in frustration. For me, if they cannot even offer a spell checker that works without all that irritation, then what else can't they sort out?? There are thousands and thousands of add-ons, and they are not tested & approved by the Mozilla developers. It's the users that judge the quality of the add-ons.P.S. the spellchecker add-on has been fixed around the time when you had your problems with it.
