It was in a large room with an air lock on the door. There were several large cabinets with huge reels. It cast in the region of £50,000,000 and probably had less computing power than my present one. Probably something similar looking to this.

andsome
There were several large cabinets with huge reels. It looks tiny to me... :lol:That was the nearest photo I could find on line. The room that it was in measured about 25 feet long, and the computer took up most of that room. There was an air lock door to enter by, and all the operators had white coats, their hair was covered and the wore over shoes. It probably had less processing power than my camera.

AlanHo
PanarchyWhy do you consider it necessary to upgrade the BIOS....?All your gear is new and latest vintage - surely it is a quite unecessary risk for possibly no practical return. If you want to feel the pleasure and satisaction of a successful BIOS upgrade - I suggest you do it on the computer you are about to replace - once the new one is fully operational.Several experts have warned you of the dangers of a failed BIOS upgrade - you would do well to accept their advice. As a software genius you must know this makes sense.
