Office 2007 Ultimate installation/repair failes

Hello!

Been having some trouble with my office 2007 Ultimate disc.

I get setup.exe error when trying to use it (to install/reinstall/repair).

That, and similar messages seem fairly common but, from what I've seen, there is no simple answer other than removing the program completely and re-installing - even that doesn't always work.

What information, if any, do you get in the event viewer?

Can you put the information on here? I do not open things like Mediafire, after having caught a nasty infection from doing so in the past.

Even so, the constructive information I have been able to glean suggests a re-install. Have a Google yourself and see.

OK, from the error code (MsiAPICallFailure ErrorCode: 87(0x57) it looks as though Windows Installer may be corrupted.

That was a completely unfair and juvenile response. And to be exact, icons can be repaired from setup.exe files, so nothing he originally stated was inaccurate or misleading.

You need to watch your attitude if you want to "moderate" in a community intended to help, rather than ostracize. You have been reported.
