AlanHo Posted February 11, 2008 Report Share Posted February 11, 2008 During my first trip to New York in 1964 I flew in one of the early Sikorsky helicopters from the roof of the PanAm building to the airport. It was unbelievable windy walking across the roof and the helicopter was powering its rotors to keep it steady while we boarded. I have also flown to the Scilly Isles from Penzance a couple of times in one of the big Westlands. Good job I'm half deaf - they are very noisy. Our North Sea helicopters in service to the oil rigs and gas platforms are red and white, the RAF are in the main are navy blue and our Air Sea rescue helicopters are Yellow.
