Not an answer to your main question, but has the hide or show arrow always been on the left side of your screen? It has always been on the right hand side of all computers that I have seen. :DI mean on the left-hand side of my System Tray, which is located on the bottom right-hand side of my screen. Then it comes back the next time until I use CCleaner again. Something today with clearing out junk, I guess. See if you notice any patterns to it, or are you saying it's never there? casey Posted May 11, 2008 Report Share Posted May 11, 2008 I tried following the article, deleting the TWO lines (after exporting the folder). Then deleted & remade explorer.exe in the task manager, and it worked Ok for me. The only slight problem I had was my clock program was not running but I logged off and back on and it was restored. mark2 Posted May 11, 2008 Report Share Posted May 11, 2008 I've just checked on my freshly imaged system,delete the lines IconStreamsPastIconsStream so you have end explorer via task manager then restart explorer as described check with regedit once more to see they're gone, on reboot the lines will be back, in my case they look exactly the same as before But I too have noticed that running Ccleaner seems to remove the arrow until I've loaded the tray a couple of times, so I don't think you have a problem there.Hope that helps you Irene Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Irene Posted May 13, 2008 Author Report Share Posted May 13, 2008 I also found out WHY the 'Show hidden icons' button goes missing. :D If I go to 'Customise Notifications' in 'Start' - 'Properties' then in current items under 'Behaviour' for Webroot Spy Sweeper, select 'Always hide'.
