Irene
I seem to recall Chris saying that it was possible to import movies on to WF. If so....how is it done?what size limitation?which file type?

Boris
There is an "upload media" drop-down option in your Members Gallery (same as you upload an image)So presumably that's what you do ?

But then again I could be wrong.

Irene
Try now.Which file types and size can be uploaded, Chris? I am getting the message, "you are not allowed to use this type of image", or (something like that).....I've tried avi and wav.
Chris
File types allowed: .mov, .wmv, .mpg, .mpeg, .avi, .swf
Irene
File types allowed: .mov, .wmv, .mpg, .mpeg, .avi, .swfSize? - bearing in mind that I am not very clear on kb mb etc. Perhaps I need a 'conversion' chart, e.g. 1oz = 25g. :D P.S.... I'm not kidding!

Irene
http://www.coolnerds.com/Newbies/kBmBgB/SizeAndSpeed.htmThank you, rong. I am just printing it off. I'll try to digest it tomorrow.
Chris
It's unlimited. But try a small file - just in case.
AlanHo
http://www.coolnerds.com/Newbies/kBmBgB/SizeAndSpeed.htmThat is a very useful article. However the chart comparing the size of CD's DVD's etc with a 1.4 MB floppy is wrong. They have assumed a floppy has a capacity of 1 MB rather than 1.4 MB. rong
I think it's quite old from other things, so the 1 MB floppy could still have been in use. It also sets it out in a way that even I can understand.

Irene
I hope this is worth waiting for Irene :D.... just another of my little projects to keep the grey matter on track. :D I'm sure Chris must think, "oh not her again".
Irene
Sorry Chris, I can't get it to work. :( Have you tested it yourself? If so, what am I doing wrong? Some tries say that I can't use that particular type of file - I have used .avi and .wmv -On another occasion, the message was that I didn't have permission to do it. The last .wmv attempt looked as if was getting there, then I was just ejected to the Main Forum Menu. I just wish it would stop raining, then I would be tempted to do something else. It makes me want to when I can't get things to work.
Chris
It's a gallery fault, I'm sure of it.Might need Invision to take a look at it...But I can't get that started so I've PM'd Craig.Oh yes I also get the same problem - returning to the forum after what looks like it's going to work.
