ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Anyway, why don't you check what's active in the Task Manager's Processes tab? You should see some CPU or I/O activity when you hold the pointer over an image file name.

Boris
Probably a stupid question, but have you looked in "Add and Remove Programs" ?
winchendon
yes ive looked every possible place I could think of.I just used process monitor (see everything happening) and all it told me when I hovered for the popup was explorer.exeI have this application called Xentient Thumbnails but I don't think thats it, all it does is show thumbnails not make them popup. Am I wrong is it Xentient? its good to have especially if you do lots of photo editing.so what do you say, someone install it and see if they get the image popup? c'monhttp://xentient.com/blog/http://www.brothersoft.com/xentient-thumbnails-107971.html

winchendon
ya I definitely have xentient. but I'm 99 percent sure that its not the same program that makes the images pop up. both xentient and whatever thing makes the images pop up are really handy for me. if I only knew what the pop up one was, or where it was located
Dencandy
winchenden, to me it looks like a screen that should have some other information in it. So it could be part of Xentient that is not functioning properly because some part of the program has become corrupt. What I have done in situations like this is first check that I have a copy of the installation file. Then I make a restore point; then I uninstall the version of the program using Add/Remove programs. Then I re-install it from the installation file again. Then test it. Try that & let us know the results.
