The stable door

I was leaning on the bottom half of the stable door watching the vet. adminstering a "pill" to a neighbour's shire horse. The neighbour was in the house and the vet was being assisted by the farm lad.

I asked what the problem was with the horse. It's such a big strong, happy, friendly thing that it is difficult to imagine it ever needing veterinary attention.

So the vet. said that it had been out and eaten too much fresh green grass and it had got colic as a result, so he was going to administer this "pill", via a blow tube, up its arse.

So saying he popped the "pill" into the horse's end of the tube , and as he inserted it into the horse's "dung dispenser", he took a firm hold of the other end with his mouth. and blew...and blew ....and blew.

He went a funny crimson colour and stopped for a rest. Then he had another go, with exactly the same result.

The the farmer's lad said, " 'ere, let me 'ave a go ", and pulled the tube out. He took the "pill" out, turned the tube round and put it in the other end. He then did just what the vet had done and just blew the "pill" straight in.

The vet was flabbergasted and said, " That's bloody marvellous lad, but why did you turn the tube round?"

"Well" said the lad, "thou don't think I was going to 'ave't bloody thing i' my gob after thou 'ad 'ad it i' thine dus' ta?"

Reminds of the woman who gave her husband a sandwich:

What's on the sandwich dear?

Tongue

Tongue?

Yes

I can't eat that - do you realise where it's been? It's been in an animal's mouth. I'll have a boiled egg instead.
