Keyboard Krash Kleaning

Recommended Posts

I picked up my keyboard today to move it out of the way - and dropped it. It landed with a thud on its side - and was immediately enveloped in a dust storm.

Where it landed, the desk was covered in a fine layer of crumbs, tiny bits of paper, eyebrow litter, dandruff, electric razor dust and all sorts of unrecognisable detritus. Yuk.....

I have just spent a happy 15 minutes trying to clean the keyboard innards (without removing any keys) by making use of miscellaneous toothpicks, brushes an an air jet aerosol and gently bouncing it upside down. Its amazing how much stuff came out.

Try yours - you may have a surprise...............................

While you have the cleaning urge, have a look at the fans and filters in your main box.

I have a problem with dog hair clogging my computer filters but that does improve the efficiency up to a point and enhances the collection of smaller particles. Doesn't last, though, and a thorough clean is needed about three times a year.
