catgate
A neighbour (well about four fields up the road) said his machine was running slowly and so I advised a purge with CCleaner. That has apparently helped a little but it is "not as quick as it used to be". So I suggested defragging.I am now told that they can not find a defragging facilty. Having never touched Vista I am surprised, although maybe I shouldn't be.Does Vista have its own Defrag and if so does it work...and how does one activate it? -pops-
Easiest thing would be to put a request in the Help & Support box - it is present as I used it yesterday.

Hb_Kai
I just checked on a Vista computer and the defrag utility is located in the same, normal place in the start menu.Start > Accessories > System Tools. If your neighbour/friend doesn't have one, you can do it with the command line by typing defrag C:or any other hard drive letter.I don't know how to get it back - the only thing that I know of being disabled in Vista installations is Telnet. There is, of course, Piriform's alternative?
