Have been watching the Queen in 3 D that I'd saved but have had to borrow the 3 D Glasses (well plastics) from No. ! daughter because I didn't manage to get to Sainsburies in time. It would have been better if the printer had put two pairs into each TV mag and stapled them in the centre fold. AlanHo Posted November 25, 2009 Report Share Posted November 25, 2009 I do not believe it possible for the old fashioned colour separated 3D to provide good quality pictures. Proper colour representation is impossible and picture definition is compromised because the two stero images share the same real estate.Cinemas now use polarised images - one being vertically and the other horizontally polarised. The audience wear polarised glasses to view the stereo effect. One lens is vertically polarised and the other horizontal so each eye sees a different image. You can see the effectiveness by putting two pairs of glasses together in opposition so the right and left lenses are together. Very little light passes through because both polarised directions of the projected image are filtered out.We recently went to see the new Disney 3D movie "UP".
